Julia Valente is a makeup designer based between Toronto and Los Angeles, working at the intersection of period, character and FX. Her credits span feature films, prestige television and pilots — from Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein and The Strain to Viggo Mortensen's The Dead Don't Hurt and Falling.

She has led makeup departments for Disney+, CBS, Fox Searchlight, FXX, Imagine Entertainment and Warner Bros., collaborating with directors including Andrew Niccol, Dan Trachtenberg, David Ayer and Mark Raso.

Her work has been honoured by the Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild and the Canadian Screen Awards — including a four-time win for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
